Mandy_Moore: Hey, thank you guys so much for joining us today!

Mandy_Moore: I am sitting in my hotel room in Las Vegas, excited about the Billboard Awards tomorrow!

ILoveMandy: Who is your favorite pop star?

Mandy_Moore: If I have to pick one? I would pick the one I'm friends with -- Jessica Simpson. She's cool, we are actually friends, we talk a lot and have a bunch of shows together. And I think she's extremely talented and sweet.

hermione: hey mandy, are you nominated for an award?

Mandy_Moore: I don't think so! I'm just going to present, so I'm excited about that....

my_justintimberlake: are you singing??

Mandy_Moore: I'm not. I'm not performing, I am just going to go!

jhuhn: Are you a bit sad that you're not allowed to gamble?

Mandy_Moore: LOL! No! I'm actually-- I'm excited that I can't gamble, 'cause there's no temptation. Las Vegas scares me -- there are too many people out there spending too much money! I'm scared to start, 'cause I might get carried away.

hermione: who are you presenting with?

Mandy_Moore: I am very happy to be presenting with BBMak 'cause I'm friends with them -- and it doesn't hurt that they're cute either!

justinsnumber1fan: what does it feel like to be up on stage in front of thousands of people?

Mandy_Moore: It's scary, until you take that first step. And then the rush of adrenalin is the best natural high. It's the coolest feeling -- I love it!

CandyChic17: are you performing at the Billboars? or the AMA's even?

Mandy_Moore: Yes, they're coming in January. I'm not performing, but I'm presenting again.

jhuhn: DO you never read people's comments on the Mandy Message board?

Mandy_Moore: I do all the time. I'm kind of addicted to it now. It's like there's this big family on the message board and you get to know people's personalities...it's kind of funny. But it's cool, it makes my day to go on and read all the positive messages...and the negative ones, so I know what I can improve upon.

hermione: do you ever have time to surf the web? what are some of your favorite sites?

Mandy_Moore: I'm really addicated to chatting on the Internet. But I usually go on to check my e-mail and talk to my friends. But I love gossip Web sites -- I'm such a geek. I'm just getting into shopping online, especially for the holidays.

chinadoll: mandy what are you doing for x-mas?

Mandy_Moore: I'm going to be home celebrating with my family. In Orlando.

Mandy_Moore: But I'm getting my tonsils out Dec. 18th and I have to stay near the doctor in L.A. for five days. I won't be talking for Christmas, I guess.

my_justintimberlake: do you want to have your own holdiay special??

Mandy_Moore: That would be fun someday! I think I'd want to wait until I have another album come out for more repertoire.

summer: Mandy what Christmas song is your favourite?

Mandy_Moore: Oh, my gosh! That's a hard one...I never really thought about that before...probably something really classic like, um...this is hard! I'm going to have to think about that one, I'm sorry!

Mandy_Moore: OK-- I like "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" and "White Christmas."

CandyChic17: What do you think about all the tabloids and things that try to pit you and Britney agains each other?

Mandy_Moore: I guess they obviously need that to sell magazines and entertain people, but it really couldn't be farther from the truth. I barely know her, I met her once briefly. It's always amusing though, I guess it's always good to have your name mentioned.

kimmm: Did you ever talk to Britney Spears before?

Mandy_Moore: I met her once this summer at the MTV beach house, and she was very sweet and very...I guess the exact opposite of people's perception of her.

kimmm: Mandy did you watch Britney's holiday special and if you did what did you think of it?

Mandy_Moore: I didn't -- I didn't get a chance to see hers or 'N Sync's.

my_justintimberlake: Have you ever met christina??

Mandy_Moore: I have. I met her briefly at MTV New Year's last year.

Mandy_Moore: But I didn't really get a chance to talk to her either. She seemed really sweet. And she's extremely talented.

CandyChic17: Are you planning on having any tv specials like Britney or Christina?

Mandy_Moore: Not at this time. I had one over Thanksgiving on FOX Family, which is kind of my only special, but I'd love to do one in the future.

ReeseChick: Hey Mandy! I am one of you biggest fans. I heard that you are modeling. How didi you get your start with modeling and singing?

Mandy_Moore: Thank you so much! Gosh -- I'm not really modeling...I'm a Neutrogena spokesperson, so I guess I'm modeling face wash right now. I guess I got my start doing community theater and singing the national anthem around town. But my only real aspirations are for singing. It's funny how you get sidetracked a little! But fun at the same time.

slaque: Are there any asperations of writing songs someday?

Mandy_Moore: Definitely. I'm going to have at least one song on the upcoming album, which I'm working on right now, that I wrote myself. And I'm really excited about being part of the creative process for once.

Marcie_Topaz: When was the first time you performed in front of a huge crowd?? Was it before of after you had become famous???

Mandy_Moore: I guess I would say after I started. When I was on tour with the BSB, we were performing in front of up to 30,000 people. And there was one show in London for 100,000 people. It was so scary...

Mandy_Moore: ...to see all those people in one place at one time.

garberpom: Mandy, I was wondering why the song YOUR FACE is your favorite song and if it has a meaning to you?

Mandy_Moore: I really fell in love with the song for its melody and lyrics. I think it's a really simple song, but I also think a lot of people can relate to it. And I think that combination makes for an excellent song. And I had a really fun time recording it as well.

kimmm: How do you feel when people say you have a clean cut image unlike Britney and Christina?

Mandy_Moore: I laugh. 'Cause this is me. I hate to use the word image because it's not an image -- you have to be yourself. I think if you're not yourself, people see thru that, and I don't ever want that. Plus, it's so confusing to get caught up in this life, where onstage you're one person and offstage, a completely different person. I don't think I could deal with that.

pleaseanswermyQ: Hey mandy! I really respect you and your reputation. Alot of stars out there don't think it really matters though-reputation. Do you ever feel like you have to watch you mouth or what you say in case someone takes something the wrong way?

Mandy_Moore: Thank you very much...I think it's always in the back of your mind that you do have some sort of responsibility to be yourself, but also to just be a decent human being.

Mandy_Moore: It's hard sometimes, 'cause you can get caught up either way. But I would say that at the end of the day, you have to realize that you're being watched carefully.

Mandy_Moore: And you have to have in the back of your mind that you do have this responsibility. But being yourself, above all, is what's important.

HERMES: Mandy what do you think about magazines that write lies about famous people?

Mandy_Moore: Again, it's this thing about tabloids starting rumors. Anything that sells and that entertains people.... I love to hear about gossip, but you can't believe everything you read or see on the Internet. I don't think you should judge people 'til you meet them, you know?

jhuhn: I have a birthday on Dec 20 (26) and I'd like to know if you ever wanted to be challenged to a bowling match with me, since you bowled on CNN one time. That's if you return to Toronto again.

Mandy_Moore: LOL! Well, happy early birthday! Gosh, bowling...I'm not really athletically inclined...I would love to, I have fun doing it. I go with my friends when I'm home. I just don't like the rented shoes...but I guess practice never hurt anybody, right?

CandyChic17: What do you think are the best and worst parts about being in the music business?

Mandy_Moore: Hmm. Obviously, the best part is getting to do what you love. And traveling to places that I never thought I'd get to travel to in the first place, and then to perform there too.

Mandy_Moore: And to meet really cool people that I've respected in the business forever...

Mandy_Moore: ...and meet the people that respect you.

Mandy_Moore: I guess the worst part is learning to grow accustomed to a new life. A life on the road, away from your friends and away from your home and everything you're used to. And sometimes the schedule is really hectic and you also have a lot more responsibility.

Mandy_Moore: I have adults now relying on me, on what I do, that was once a hobby. They rely on me now to support themselves and their families. And it's a really hard fact to have to get used to and try and live up to.

Mandy_Moore: It's scary.

xTSx: How's high school going with all of your career stuff? Isn't it hard to concentrate on school?

Mandy_Moore: It's hard to find time, I guess, during the day, but I have my parents always traveling on the road with me, and they constantly make sure that I do school. And everything is on my laptop now, so it's more convenient to do Internet school and talk to my tutors thru e-mail.

my_justintimberlake: who insipired you when you were growing up??

Mandy_Moore: Musically, I would say Madonna, Bette Midler definitely, Janet Jackson, Karen Carpenter -- probably the four main people that inspired me.

Mandy_Moore: I still listen to them today.

ReeseChick: Mandy, how did you know that you wanted to sing?

Mandy_Moore: I saw my first play, "Oklahoma," when I was 6. And I remember the exact moment, tapping my dad on the shoulder and saying, "I want to do that." But I wanted to be on stage singing my own songs, and from then on, I always compared myself to that girl who played Laurie in "Oklahoma."

Mandy_Moore: From there I went around the house singing New Kids on the Block or Madonna to my little karaoke machine, doing all that stuff.

NoahsBabyBumbleBee: Do you have an advice to aspiring young singers?

Mandy_Moore: Absolutely. Don't pass up any good opportunity that comes your way.

Mandy_Moore: 'Cause you never know who's out there in the audience.

JustinTimberlakeBaby: Mandy, What is your advice for young ones who you would like to follow in your footsteps?

Mandy_Moore: I was recording my demo in a little studio in Orlando, and the FedEx guy heard me sing. He had a friend at a record label and he did a big favor for me and sent my demo off. So you never know.

CandyChic17: Have you found that you've had to grow up alot faster in the past year or so what with the fame and everything?

Mandy_Moore: I mean, I do take into consideration that I go home and I have conversations with my friends, and I realize that I can have entertaining conversations with them and their parents. It's really weird 'cause I'm in an adult world now. But I think if you want to stay who you are and a teenager, then you can definitely do it.

Mandy_Moore: I mean, I don't want to grow up. I still want to sleep in. And go to the mall. And talk on the phone late at night. All that stuff. People always say that these are the best years of your life, so why would you want to pass them up so quickly.

Mandy_Moore: I guess being in the situation I am in right now makes me realize that I want to stay a kid as long as I can, 'cause the real world is kind of scary.

dreamy: hi mandy! how is the fedex guy doing? you still talk to him? hehe :)

Mandy_Moore: Victor is awesome! He is very supportive and he always comes and supports me when I have shows in Orlando and stuff.

Mandy_Moore: So all is good.

Marcie_Topaz: Who is that guy in the video for "Candy" that si skateboarding and riding the bike?? He's hot!!!!!

Mandy_Moore: He's hot! And he is so sweet! He's perfect! His name is Sean and he was a model I picked out from a bunch of pictures. And I recently saw him while doing the movie that I just finished. He was an extra in it and I got to hang out with him for a couple of days. So that was fun.

melmandyfan16: mandy... when do you plan to do a duet with someone?

Mandy_Moore: On this next album that I'm recording right now.

MODMSG bRiT: Hey Mandy, you're an excellent performer and I was wondering what you do before a performance to get excited and ready to sing?

Mandy_Moore: Wow! Thank you!

Mandy_Moore: I always just drink water and I make sure I'm warmed up enough. I have one of those silly "la-la-la" tapes from my voice teacher. And I always make sure I pray with my dancers and tour manager. We have the usual gig that we do...nothing too special or out of the ordinary.

bhanka911: Hey Mandy Moore, you are such an insperation, I was just wondering when your making another cd?

hermione: when will your new album be out?

JJ_Mandy_Lover: When are you going to release your cd, cause i love your music and want to pre-order it as soon as possible

Mandy_Moore: Thank you so much! I am in the midst of recording it right now. And it should be out probably by the end of March or beginning of April.

jhuhn: Any plans to do another music video?

Mandy_Moore: Definitely for the next single off the next album.

kimmm: Mandy you're so lucky.....Do you even get a little nervous presenting an award?

Prince: Do you still get butterflies before you go on?

Mandy_Moore: I'm always nervous! LOL! I'm nervous, like I said, right until I step out on stage. Then you forget all about being nervous. You honestly realize how lucky you are being right there at that very moment. And why waste your time being nervous when you realize how happy, thankful and excited you are to be there?

CandyChic17: Mandy, what are some future projects of yours?

Mandy_Moore: The movie that I just wrapped is called The Princess Diaries, directed by Garry Marshall. And it should be out sometime in July.

mandygirl: What's your least favorite and most favorite part of Awards shows like the Billboard Music Awards?

Mandy_Moore: That's hard.... I think my most favorite is being ready and actually being at that show. And my least favorite is walking down the red carpet, 'cause it's really stressful. And actually last year, it was my first awards show at the Billboard Awards. And it happened to be that Britney, Jessica, Christina and I all happened to be on the red carpet at the same time.

Mandy_Moore: And people were mixing up our names, asking us the wrong questions. It was really funny. And since it was my first awards show, it was like, Is this how ALL of them are going to be?!?

JustinTimberlakeBaby: Mandy Stay the way you are, cause You are truly a great role model for youths and very mature young person with good morals , and my question is do you have any future goals?

Mandy_Moore: Wow! Thank you very much, that was very nice. Future goals -- I want to graduate high school, go to college and study journalism. I want to keep on performing and eventually write and produce my own stuff. I'd like to go on a world tour some day. There are so many things I want to do.

AzNzHaHbOh: where do you want to go to college? and what do you want to study?

Mandy_Moore: Journalism. And I've always wanted to live in New York and go to college there, but I haven't looked into any journalism schools.

megs6540: mandy i heard you would love to record a song with Britney Spears or Jessica Simpson is that true?

Mandy_Moore: It would be funny! To prove to people that we really don't hate each other. A la Brandy and Monica, I guess.
